I've actually recently started thinking about this And based on this talk here from two of the devs behind Android Studio : [this video] (at the 21 mins: 28 seconds mark) [LINK] It is definitely possible, they recommend replacing the CollapsingToolbarLayout completely with the ConstraintLayout.

There can be multiple ways to create such layout. You can create this using a FrameLayout as root for all other TextView s and ImageView s. The white layout containing the text seems like a bottomsheet [LINK] . This approach might require more work to accomplish the results. The better way would be using a constraint layout to spread out the views and constraint them to each-other. Added advantage would be better (and easier) animations [this video] support and a more robust layout.

I'm rewriting an iOS app for Android, and I'm looking to achieve this animation using ConstraintSets and CoordinatorLayout: [LINK] This droidcon talk [this video] gave me the idea that this was doable without using CollapsingToolbarLayout but it seems like transitioning between two ConstraintSets cannot be done in relation to the scroll offset and instead must be animated with a specified duration using an Animator I'm a bit stumped on where to begin. Is it possible to set a listener that detects every time the scroll offset changes and animate between two ConstraintSets accordingly, or is CollapsingToolbarLayout the only way to achieve those animations? EDIT: Is it also possible to get an animat
