try building the application under a different package, or adding @componentscan annotation on the application class to specify the package to scan If you're new to spring boot... I get a little confused using Spring boot's documentation. But spring's documentaion is easier for me to follow. Additionally, there's a YT with decent spring info. [LINK] [this video]

Following tutorial on Java Spring, I'm trying to understand how does @Transactional work with setters, and from other question/sources, I can't find a beginner-friendly explanation for it. Let's say I have a user entity with getters and setters: @Entity public class User { // Id set up private Long id; private String name; private String email; private String password; // Other constructors, setters and getters public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } } And in the UserService I have a getUserName method: @Service public class UserService { private final UserRepository userRepository; @Autowired public UserService(UserRepository userRepository) { this.userRepository = userReposi

Am I missing an obvious annotation somewhere? I'm following this tutorial which is good but it misses a few things which is annoying [this video] My Student repository file is like so: package com.example.demo.student; import org.springframework.data.jpa.repository.JpaRepository; import org.springframework.stereotype.Repository; @Repository public interface StudentRepository extends JpaRepository<Student, Long> { } My StudentConfig file is like so which contains the following error causer towards the bottom o

I am trying to learn something using this tutorial [this video] . Now I connect my new database with my Spring (Java) something. However, I don't understand why in RUN output in IJ and SQL Shell shows wrong order of lines. The first line in column should be ID. After that, name, email, date, age should follow. In reality columns are shown in this order: age, date,id,email, name. How can I change it? Example from SQL Shell: Column | Type | Collation | Nullable | Default --------+------------------------+-----------+----------+--------- age | integer | | | dob | date | | | id | bigint | | not null | email | character varying(255) | | | name | character varying(255) | | | Indexes: "student_pkey" PRIMA

I am trying to learn Spring Boot and as part of this I need to send http requests to test the functionality of the API I have created. When following along with this video [this video] , the teacher had an 'actions for URL' selection which I do not see in my own editor. Note that the point in the video I linked shows this. After updating (to IDEA 2021.1) and restarting I still could not see this option. I tried to create my own .http file, but am not able to work with this type of file [LINK] . After more research I found that I should have a plugin called 'http client' installed by default. I cannot find this in my installed plugins or by searching through the marketplace. I am a beginner to using SpringBoot, therefore I am following along with this guide: [this video] I am at the 'Testing Post Request' section of the video. At 1:15:00 of the video, he tests his Post request successfully. I have taken every step that he has taken and my code is identical (to my knowledge) to his, but instead of getting back a 200, I am getting back a 404 and this is what is produced in the logs: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Server: nginx/1.23.0 Date: Thu, 04 Aug 2022 20:25:49 GMT Content-Type: text/html Content-Length: 153 Connection: keep-alive <html> <head> <title>404 Not Found</title> </head> <body> <center> <h1>404 Not Found</h1> </center> <hr> <center>nginx/1.23.0</center> </body> <
