What it is
A 21-minute bike mechanic tutorial from RJ The Bike Guy showing how to take apart, clean, lube and reassemble a rear derailleur, using a Shimano RD-5600 road derailleur. He notes other models are similar but may differ, especially in how the cage comes off the main body.

This was the problem. Here's a video showing disassembly and reassembly of the rear deraillure which includes this pivot. In the video he uses a vice to help with reassembly - I did it with just a pair of pliers but was not at all easy. I thought shifting was fine before but it's much improved now. [this video]

I had the same fear that a screw came out of my Tiagra RD or something. But watching a youtube video eased my fear and the content suggested that it might be an access for servicing and it is by design. The video is not exactly for Tiagra (but for 105), and it has the same 2mm access. Hope this helps.

I want to disassemble my Rear Derailleur 9-speed -> [LINK] Here is a video of instructions for disassembling a general rear derailleur: I've removed the upper G-pulley, but I want to remove the metal part, but I don't see how, did not find videos, the manuals did not mention that part. But there is a little cap at the bottom, it's difficult to remove it and I wonder If it's a real cap, it there a screw behind it ? On the picture below I want to remove the metal black part below. Need help. [LINK] The image of the "cap", can I remove this? [LINK]
