Here [this video] is a good example of similar effect in DevBytes. It is using new API in ActivityOptions [LINK] , which is available from JellyBean directly or can be accessed via support-v4 [LINK] library The code snipped from that example is here: Intent i = new Intent(HomeActivity.this, DetailActivity.class); i.putExtra(DetailActivity.EXTRA_COLOUR, colour); Bundle b = null; if (Build.VERSION.SDK_INT >= Build.VERSION_CODES.JELLY_BEAN) { Bitmap bitmap = Bitmap.createBitmap(view.getWidth(), view.getHeight(), Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888); bitmap.eraseColor(colour); b = ActivityOptions.makeThumbnailScaleUpAnimation(view, bitmap, 0, 0).toBundle(); } startActivity(i, b);

I guess you need to zoom ImageView when it is clicked, and zoom out when it is again clicked. Android has given an example [LINK] on this.I thing that might helpful for you. I have an app, which uses a custom ActionBar.Whenever my app is launched by the launcher (or any other app), it has a zoom in animation, of an empty view with Default ActionBar, when the animation finishes, I get my view, and this transition doesn't look that good. I've found the following Video [this video] , which shows how to create an animation within your app. Can I change the lunch animation to a custom Bitmap, and how?

I am trying to implement activity transitions in my app. I came across an awesome one here [this video] . But it is only compatible with android jellybean +. The link above redirects to youtube where Nick Butcher shows Activity zoom transition from a view. I want to use it on gingerbread (API 10)+. How can I achieve that? One idea which came to my mind was to take the location of that view on the screen, pass it to the upcoming activity and then ask that upcoming activity to zoom or grow bigger from that location. I don't know if that is possible or not. Any ideas or solutions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am using this [this video] window zoom transition in my app. It is a zoom in/out animation that will show when the user switches between two activities. But its not working on gingerbread. Please help me make it work on gingerbread. If not possible, please suggest some other code. Thanks!

It is only a half of AndyLens app, the Camera handler. But most of it can be accomplished easily through Camera Intent (it is safer, intent will always work). And the picture zooming can be done using different forms of animation, see [this video] or search 'Chet Haase' on YouTube DevBytes. If you want to get up to speed with Android in general, I would definitely recommend [LINK]
