Merge-sort with Transylvanian-saxon (German) folk dance
Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it when someone is struggling to understand how merge sort splits and merges data, since the dancers make each recursive step easy to see.

What it is
A 4-minute visualization of the merge sort algorithm performed by dancers in Transylvanian-Saxon folk dance. It comes from the AlgoRythmics project at Sapientia University in Targu Mures, Romania, which made a series of sorting algorithms acted out as dances.

Nothing can explain different sorting algorithms better than this Hungarian folk dance group: Bubble-sort [LINK] Quick-sort [LINK] Select-sort [LINK] Merge-sort [this video] Shell-sort [LINK] But if you prefer a bit more formal approach I recommend you this site: [LINK] You can choose different sorting algorithms, number and type of elements to sort and also different data sequences: random, ordered, reversed etc. You can't enter your own data there but I don't think that not using your own sequence of numbers could hinder the ability to understand the concept :)

[this video] maybe this could help you to fully understand how the passes are (I'm not trolling, I found it quite good for learning lol)

this video [this video] gives a great visual representation. Each time the dancers split into a group represents a recursive call.
