Basically what is happening is that there comes a point at which the height of 5% for the table cell is too small for the text that is contained inside so, instead of disappearing it ignores the height of the container. To workaround this you would have to use media queries to rearrange the table - though i recommend not using a table as it will make this bit easier - so that the height is of a size that wont create scroll bars. It really depends on what you mean by "responsive" in this case. One would want the thumbnails to go underneath, others would want to just resize the preview. In all cases you should investigate media queries. It is very flexible approach to manipulating elements depending on various conditions. Your question is way to big to answer here but media queries is what you'll want. Watch this short You Tube video and you will get the basics down pretty quick [this video] Html in head <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> Html in body <div id="container"><div id="header">Logo</div></div> CSS #container{width: 1000px; height: 500px;} #header{width: 1000px; height: 100px; text-align: center;} @media only screen and (max-width: 999px){#container{width:100%;}#header{width: 100%;background-color: blue;}} This is just an example, at 999px the header will turn blue and will size to your screen as long as your screen width is below 999px.
