What it is

A short 2013 screencast by PushBots showing how to set up Google Cloud Messaging push notifications in an Android app using the PushBots service. It walks through adding the PushBots library, initializing it and sending a test push. The description notes it has been deprecated in favour of a newer tutorial.

Check the video tutorial on youtube ( [this video] ) I'll quote here too: Please make sure you've copied PushBots.jar file into libraries folder of your android project. And also make sure you extended Application Class, and initialized PushBots in its onCreate method, check out steps 6,7 in this link for more details [LINK] here's a sample code: import com.pushbots.push.Pushbots; import android.app.Application; public class MyApplication extends Application { @Override public void onCreate() { super.onCreate(); Pushbots.init(this, "", ""); } }

Actually this is a bug. You can fix this By creating separate Application class. package com.pusbots.androidpushbot; import android.app.Application; import com.pushbots.push.Pushbots; public class SampleApplication extends Application { private static final String SENDER_ID ="YOUR_SENDER_ID"; private static final String PUSHBOTS_APPLICATION_ID ="PUSHBOT_APP_ID"; @Override public void onCreate(){ super.onCreate(); Pushbots.init(this, SENDER_ID, PUSHBOTS_APPLICATION_ID); } } see this video tutorial : Send GCM Android Push Notifications [this video] Also check this : pushbots-app-crash [LINK] app not running [LINK]

I am learning the PushBots in the video. But what makes me frustrating is that when I was trying to create a new project, I input the API key just get from the google developer, it always says "Invalid GCM API key." Any others encountered this case? video: [this video]
