How about using the Profile 2 [LINK] module for this? Exceerpt from its project page: Designed to be the successor of the core profile module, which is deprecated for Drupal 7. In contrast to the deprecated module this module provides a new, fieldable 'profile' entity ... leverage the power of fields! Refer to this video [this video] for an introduction to Profile 2 also. Instead of creating content types, I think you're better off using the profile module. For Drupal 8 use the Profile [LINK] Module The Profile module provides configurable user profiles. Multiple profile types may be created via the UI (e.g. a general profile + a customer profile), whereas the module provides separated permissions for those. Optionally, profile forms are shown during user account registration. Fields may be configured to be private - thus visible only to the profile owner and administrators. Profile types are displayed on the user view page, and can be configured through “Manage Display” on account settings. Formerly known as Profile2 [LINK] in drupal 7. Here is a video tutor

Please read documentation [LINK] of this module. Another doc [LINK] googled. Screencast [this video] . About Profile2 [LINK] module: As described in the documentation [LINK] Drupal 7 allows adding fields to user account pages - what serves as simple way for building user profiles. The main differences between that and profile2 are: With profile2 user account settings and user profiles are conceptually different things, e.g. with the "Profile pages" module enabled users get two separate menu links "My account" and "My profile". Profile2 allows for creating multiple profile types, which may be assigned to roles via permissions (e.g. a general profile + a customer profile) Profile2 supports private

Create a profile using profile2 module [this video] Do you need it here I do not think so, what profile 2 module does is it separates user entity with a separate profile entity.Lets consider this with an example you have user on site with name, age fields but the user can have multiple profiles on the basis of Sports, Music so fields on the profile goes in that way. You may have fields like compositions, favourites on music profile for the user and games.. etc. fields on sports profile for the user but name and age will be on the user entity as it is common to both profiles With fields you have mentioned you do not need profile2 module instead panels module will be good for you as neo has suggested
