Blender Motion Tracking - Room Transformation!
Why Hacker News recommends it
Recommended as an eye-opening, fast introduction to what Blender can do and a model of a productive workflow.
What it is
Ian Hubert shows how to use Blender's motion tracking to turn ordinary footage of a room into a stylized digital environment for an indie film. It is a quick, practical walkthrough in his loose, lazy-tutorial style.

Came here to say this. This video of his really opened my eyes to what Blender can do ( [this video] ) and makes a cool entry point into that world.

Ian Hubert's Lazy Tutorials would be an excellent supplementary series once you know some of the basics. They're not a general guide to Blender, but they're great resources. He has his own style of working and he's shockingly productive with it. Lazy Tutorials: [LINK] My favourite guides of his are not in the Lazy Tutorials playlist, though. Perhaps they were not lazy enough: Blender Motion Tracking: Room Transformation - [this video] Wild Tricks for Greenscreen in Blender - [LINK]

I'd also like to point people to Ian Hubert's youtube videos on some of the things he does in Blender. This short clip (he races through his stuff) shows how he turns a video in a farm house into a dystopian scene using Blender's motion tracking. [this video]
