What it is
A short 2012 clip from the National Geographic special "Evacuate Earth," posted by the Arrowtron channel, showing a neutron star flying into the solar system and tearing the Earth apart. It is a CGI dramatization of a speculative but physically grounded catastrophe.

Moving in the other direction from ckersch... A neutron star is an atom the size of a mountain. [LINK] As they explain in the [reference], neutron stars are "like giant atom cores" that are "unbelievably dense and violent." They are exactly like atom cores with one notable exception: atom cores are held together by strong interaction between subatomic particles, while neutron stars are held together by gravity. and here is a video of that nucleus destroying Earth. [this video] Neutron stars are natural objects, humans are incapable of producing them. Neutron star would wipe out the Earth. The minimum stable neutron star mass is ~$ 1.44 M_{\odot} $ Neutron stars are the remains of supernovae as ar

Is it possible for a earth-like planet to orbit a neutron star & have intelligent life-forms, even if said neutron star 'moves' through different galaxies? as seen in this video - [this video] where a neutron star destroys Earth, only in my universe it wouldn't destroy a earth, but just different planets of roughly the same size, up to 5x the mass of earth. Would my earth-like planet be safe & able to sustain life? I've seen - Earth-like planet orbiting neutron star? [LINK] - but the answer only explains that it isn't possible, mainly due to radiation, and assumes that Sol is a neutron star, my question isn't about Sol being a neutron star but about a earth-like planet orbiting a neutron star tha

If it's a type 2 [LINK] civilization, there's probably a number of different ways to block a rogue planet (use a laser to adjust its trajectory, move it via artificial gravity, blow it up with some kind of super weapon, etc.) What you might need for your story is to up the ante to something far more destructive. If we were to see a hyper-velocity star [LINK] , a neutron star [LINK] , or even a rogue black hole hurtling towards the solar system, our only chance of survival would be to leave it entirely. This video here [this video] describes a scenario just like this.
