@cde - It wasn't Capaldi, it's clearly the other Time Lord responding "No sir--all thirteen!" Go to 2:08 at [this video] to rewatch

Major spoilers below! The Doctor did honestly believe that he destroyed Gallifrey and the Timelords. In addition to the example you gave, he says it all few times over the rest of the series. House: Why should it matter to me in which room you die? I can kill you just as easily here as anywhere. Fear me. I've killed hundreds of Time Lords. The Doctor: Fear me. I've killed all of them. This will be pretty hard, challenging and probably only for the real hard Whovians. I watched the thirteen Doctors scene from The Day of the Doctor [this video] again. I assume that all of the old Doctor scenes (and I would say also the 9th Doctor scene) are from the archive (correct me if they are not) They are mostly very short and I am curious, from which episodes they come from.

The identity of the new Doctor has always been newsworthy, it's only with the new series that they've been made into true media events (such as the worldwide live broadcast for the announcement of Peter Capaldi in the role). Now it's seen as being on par with the re-casting of James Bond, both getting bookies declaring odds for various actors. This question is pretty much the same as this one [LINK] , except for the twelfth Doctor instead of the tenth. We see a short glimpse of the thirteenth Doctor [this video] in The day of the Doctor, but as far as I know, it's never even mentioned in his three seasons when he went there. I assume it was in the time of his first two seasons, because saving Gallifrey after it was already restored in "Hell bent" would probably have some timey-wimey issues, and maybe even before "Death in heaven", because of how angry he was about not finding Gallifrey. But are there any clear indications of when he went there? The same questions could also be asked about the first to ninth Doctor, but because they pla
