Without a doubt use visual studio 2017 community [LINK] Check out this video tutorial for windows [this video] (highly recommend) Choose file -> new project -> empty cpp project. Create a new .cpp file in the solution explorer on your right. And use this code to get you going : #include <iostream> int main(){ std::cout << "hello , world !" << std::endl; } }

My recommendation You are on Windows right? So you can just install Visual Studio IDE ( follow this tutorial [this video] ). Which is better than vs code. This tutorial is for C++ but it works for C as well. Because C++ uses the same compiler as C but with some more things(simple explanation). The solution for your problem You are getting the massage 'gcc' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file because you do not have the gcc compiler installed on your computer. But if you want to install it, you can follow this tutorial [LINK] . But I highly recommend you use Visual Studio IDE which I mentioned above.

I want to display the minimap slider on the right side of VS 2019 Community, but I didn't find any option for this.. Google said that I need to use Visual Studio Code because only this version include the minimap option. I saw in this tutorial video [this video] that the guy use the minimap within the VS (not VS Code). Should I use an extension or how can I get the minimap with my VS? Thanks!
