There was that 60 Minutes piece that had astronauts criticizing SpaceX harshly enough to make Elon Musk cry. [this video]

If you had read my comment a little more charitably, you might have noticed that I never said you shouldn't consult or listen to experts, but simply that you shouldn't assume someone who is not an expert can't figure things out in a field outside their line of work. Experts weren't always so kind to Elon[1] either. [1] [this video]

Yea the guy basically went bankrupt back when SpaceX and Tesla weren't yet doing so hot and almost lost everything. He gets pretty emotional talking about it even [0]. Whatever you think of him, I would caution confusing extreme optimism and directness for being out of touch. [0] [this video]

I don't understand these naysayers. I'm not trying to be mean here, but is there anything more to that than an old guy complaining about how it was awesome in his time and age, and how we get everything wrong nowadays? I'm genuinely asking - are astronauts talking about space programs similar to actors and celebrities taking about moral or political issues? I.e. just famous but not so smart people?
