As stated in the comments by Haleemur Ali, this data is a properly formatted JSON. He pointed me in the right direction by suggesting I handle it as one. Using the following function will convert the string to a JSON object, which can be handled much more easily. logJSON = json.loads(inputstring) I used the following video to familiarize myself with JSON handling in Python prior to reading the documentation: [this video]

When you make this request like the comments have mentioned you get a dictionary which you can then access the keys and values. For example if you want to get the album_type you could do the following: print(data["albums"]["items"][0]["album_type"]) Since items contains a list you would need to get the first values 0 and then access the album_type . Output: single Here is a link to the code I used with your json. [LINK] I suggest you look into how to deal with json data in python, this [this video] is a good place to start.

Assuming you used pandas.read_csv("living_costs.csv"), there was something wrong with conversion of txt to csv, which I am not familiar with. IMHO, It also seems a bit too complicated and I highly recommend you learn about json files. You can simply store scraped data in dictionaries, dump them as json, load them back to dicts whenever you want and place them in DFs. Check out " [this video] " for a great tutorial, and I promise you it's 100 times better than converting txt to csv. and if you really need csv, use df.to_csv after making it a dataframe .

I want to do a Sobol (GSA) Analysis. For that matter, I want to extract data from my parameters, which are stored in a json file, into my python file (extension: ipynb). I watched a video and a website ( [this video] and [LINK] ) but the Loop through data step doesnt work. I noticed that in they work with lists, e.g.: {"web": { "languages": [ { "id": "1", "name": "PHP", "website": " [LINK] " }, { "id": "2", "name": "Python", "website": " [LINK] " }, { "id": "3", "name": "Java", "website": " [LINK] " } ] } } My json file looks a little bit different - I don´t have any lists (with [] brackets). It is just like a dict of objects: { "tech_water": { "name": "Water", "value": 0.80, "description": "", "
