I use Laravel Broadcasting with Laravel Websockets and Laravel Echo for server to client communication while using the code below for client to server communication using websockets api. Big thanks to Acadea.io [this video] . I am trying to follow along with this tutorial: [this video] which is very straight forward and simple, but unfortunately does not work for me. Based on the comments others do not seem to be having this issue. This is what I've done so far: Installed "beyondcode/laravel-websockets": "^1.13" and "pusher/pusher-php-server": "7.0" (First tried the current version 7.2 but there was no difference in the error) and did composer updates Uncommented App\Providers\BroadcastServiceProvider in config/app.php Changed .env to BROADCAST_DRIVER=pusher and Modified config/broadcasting.php 'pusher' => [ 'driver' => 'pusher', 'key' => env('PUSHER_APP_KEY'), // These env vars have config:cache'd dummy values 'secre

As a Laravel beginning I'm having hard times grasping on how to create a simple "hello world" -like WebSocket interface, it seems as if authentication must be implemented, database logging must exist, and a certain WebSocket structure must be implemented in order for it to work. The problem is, the client cannot be modified to fit the server. How should this simple server be implemented in Laravel (preferably with beyondcode/laravel-websockets)? The websocket should be available at ws://{location}:3000/clock, whereas other already existing REST interfaces in other paths, such as [LINK] It's vital for the application to work with either commonly used Laravel frameworks, or default methods pro

That is not an easy task, but I hope I can help you. Basically, there are two ways to resolve this. The first one is using Livewire Polling [LINK] , where your frontend requests the database every 2 seconds to check if there are any new notifications for this user. Specifically, you can use wire:poll.keep-alive in your case. <div class="{{$this->unreadCount > 0 ? 'block' : 'hidden'}}" wire:poll.keep-alive> You have {{$this->unreadCount}} new notifications. </div> It is important to clarify that, depending on the size of your project and the number of users, this solution may overload your database with frequent requests. In advance, you can use a WebSocket [LINK] solution, which is the secon
