I'm trying to implement a messaging app(Node.js) for my website. I found a video tutorial [this video] that solves my prob with Socket.io, so 99% of the work is complete. Now I'm trying to save this data, or the messages to my Atlas Cluster, but it doesn't work. I identified my mistake but I don't know how to fix it. If I let the router.post("/") like this, it doesn't save anything in db. If I try to include the url, router.post("/username=a&room=JavaScript") it gives me this error: C:\Users\marjo\chatcord\server.js:70 io.to(user.room).emit("message", formatMessage(user.username, msg)); ^ TypeError: Cannot read property 'room' of undefined at Socket.<anonymous> (C:\Users\marjo\chatcord\server.js:

If you are working with realtime data, then I'd suggest you look into the websocket protocol. socket.io [LINK] is a great framework for sending realtime data to client or from client to server. If you want a visual tutorial: create a messaging app [this video]

I have been learning how to make client-server applications recently and am following this [this video] tutorial by Traversy Media. This [LINK] is the Github page for the code that mine is based on. Though I have resolved the MIME type issue that is brought up. But the problem is, when I run the code, the CSS stylesheets(both the stylesheet linked to the website and the style.css file in the css folder) do not appear to be applied to the HTML page. What happens when I run the HTML file is that the HTML page appears to be without any style, meaning that although the HTML does appear in the webpage, the HTML elements do not have any styles.
