Not this time around, they have an entire video on the aerodynamics work, it's beyond impressive and beyond X-Plane's "blade element theory". [this video]

Thank you, this is honestly really impressive! However, I must note that the aerodynamic simulation shown at [this video] seems quite close to Xplane's :)

> If you're looking for a more accurate, 'real' simulator it has a lot to offer. What do you mean by this? The MSFS 2020 flight simulation is on par if not better than X-Plane: [this video] > but if you're interested in contributing to a product you can improve and have fun modelling/texturing additional planes, cities etc this is a project to get involved with. Again, MSFS 2020's SDK is already with all of the major third-party developers and will be publically available upon its release. A couple have even swapped to almost purely working on MSFS products instead of X-Plane or P3D.

The article was written by someone who didn't even bother to read/watch Microsoft's promo material. Lookup tables are a thing of the past. Microsoft has published two videos showcasing their new aerodynamics simulation[1][2]. There seems to be a lot of pushback from old-timers who have sunken thousands of $$$ into X-Plane and its expansions (from terrain packages to cloud visuals), many of which now look inferior to what Microsoft's new simulator offers out of the box.
