Why Hacker News recommends it
HN commenters point to it as a standout example of what live-coded music can do, and as the video that introduced them to Strudel and TidalCycles.

What it is
Switch Angel live-codes a trance track from scratch in Strudel, a browser-based live coding music environment, while a filtered voice narrates each step. The roughly six-minute performance builds a full song, with the narration working as part of the music.

This was one of my favorites -- with the voice filter the narration feels like it's part of the song which I found especially fun. [this video]

A slightly older Switch Angel trance video is how I learned about Strudel/TidalCycles: [this video] . Her narration over top makes it the perfect trance track. "More chaos brings more power. More power brings more control." I desperately want a clean sample of that.

What‘s going on with all these code-2-music tools these days? See other front page discussion about strudel.cc [1]. Did I enter an established bubble or is there a rising trend? It‘s incredible, though, what people are able to obtain with it, especially when built-up during a live session [2]. [1] [LINK] [2] Nice example: [this video]
