What it is

A Firebase Summit 2018 talk by Susan Goldblatt on handling in-app payments without running your own server. It shows how to use Stripe through Cloud Functions for Firebase with Cloud Firestore, covering refunds and security.

Handling payments is not built into Firebase. But you can build it yourself using Cloud Functions and Stripe's API. For the newer Cloud Firestore database, this process is documented in: this video from a Firebase engineer [this video] this code sample based on that video [LINK] this blog post by a Firebase advocate [LINK] The sample used to be based on Realtime Database, so you can still find the code for that in this branch [LINK] . The rest of the flow will be the same as above.

The Firebase functions-samples repo contains examples of processing payments with Stripe [LINK] and with Paypal [LINK] . If you look at the code for these, you'll see that the Firebase aspects of them are fairly similar, and the main differences are in the calls to the Paypal/Stripe API. If you need to support another payment provider, you will have to make your own implementation of this approach, typically using these examples as a template. I also recommend checking out the video explaining this flow: Go serverless: manage payments in your apps [this video] .

I actually had the same question a few days ago so i ended up doing some research and found this firebase video by the firebase team [this video] using cloud function you can integrate stripe and listen to changes on your database to communicate with firebase, also check the video description there's a couple links including a GitHub one. another thing the example is using firestore but you can integrate it into firebase database if you don't want to transition to firestore. i hope this can help you. good luck

I followed this tutorial exactly: [this video] I was able to get my code to create a new stripe customer with Firebase authentication and I am able to submit a token and see it in stripe. However, after the token is sent to stripe, nothing else happens. The details of the token are supposed to appear in the database (but nothing shows up..).Please help... Flutter code: import 'package:flutter/material.dart'; import 'package:stripe_payment/stripe_payment.dart'; import 'package:flutter/cupertino.dart'; PaymentMethod paymentMethod; final CreditCard testCard = CreditCard( number: '4242424242424242', expMonth: 12, expYear: 21, ); class donationPage extends StatefulWidget { @override donationPageState

I'm trying to integrate Stripe into my ios ( Swift ) app by using Firebase-Cloud-Functions . Now I'm want to get the token to a created card to save it into my Firestore-Database . I've followed this tutorial [this video] on how to implement it. It's working when I'm displaying my addCardViewController on my own since I have the method didCreateToken . But now that I'm just showing it programmatically like shown in their provided example [LINK] (row 158 is where they're showing the view controller) I don't know how to implement this method and get the token of the card if a user creates/add s a new one. Thats what Id normally do: func addCardViewController(_ addCardViewController: STPAddCardViewC

Thank you but I’m not trying to charge the user using this token. I just followed this tutorial: [this video] By saving the token the credit card gets saved onto my database aswell as stripe

Currently, I am working to create a Stripe payment method in an Android Studio App. This will involve a credit card object which will be stored by Stripe into my Firestore DB. Unfortunately, one of the lines in the tutorial that I have used is outdated since it uses getContext() without a view. Background on Stripe: [this video] Background on Firestore: [LINK] Here is the link to the tutorial that I am following: [LINK] Unfortunately, I have not had much luck finding a tutorial that is knew, uses the same format and does not use getContext(). I have already completed all steps up to inserting the line: final Stripe stripe = new Stripe( getContext(), "pk_test_TYooMQauvdEDq54NiTphI7jx" ); In my ver

There is nothing built into Firebase to connect it with Google Pay, not is there anything built into Google Pay to connect it with Firebase. You'll have to write the code that connects the two yourself. And since this involves payment processing, you'll likely have to do this in a trusted environment. This can be your development machine, a server you control, or Cloud Functions. For an example of integrating payment processing with Firebase through Cloud Functions, have a look at this example using Stripe [LINK] (also explained in this video [this video] ), or this example using PayPal [LINK] .

This is best done in Firebase using cloud functions, rather than from the app. Find links below for more info on how to do this: [LINK] [this video] [LINK] For these reasons: There's the security aspect and one of these links explains it's not a great idea to have your stripe secret inside your client. I want to be able to make this available from flutterweb, as well as other devices. Flutterweb is currently not yet supported by any plugin. The plugin that's best evolved and most used is [LINK] . Flutter-web has not been released yet (more, see [LINK] )
