Set your project Frame Rate properly to match the one of your footage. Mikeycal Meyers has got some great tutorials [LINK] on this topic [LINK] . He explains it pretty well in # 2 - Blender Video Editing (Importing video) [LINK] starting at 3:35 [LINK] . If you want to do speed change stuff instead you should follow his # 24 - Blender Video Editing (Speed up & Slow Down Audio/Video | Snap Strips option) [this video] So to fix it for you, you need to calculate your footages frame rate and set it up in Blender. You can do so by dividing your Audio Length (which is 42389 as you can see on your teal/lightseagreen/darkcyan colored Strip after the "|") by your Video Strips Length (that 3284 next to you

The video gets sped up as you see but it does not affect the length of the strip. I do not know a way to automate the process but you need to shrink the length of each strip that you are speeding up. In your case, you are speeding it up by a factor of 4 so you need to make each strip 1/4 of the original length. Then you need to move all the strips together so there is no space between them. I did a search on Youtube using this - blender vse video speed up and found this video: [this video] I hope that helps.

I'd do it with a workaround [LINK] only importing the same frame rate into Blender and doing the rate adjustments outside... But else Mikeycal Meyers explains how to fiddle around [this video] with these Speed Strips for that purpose [LINK] .

@ Mike Pan: Youre Explanation makes sence....before i read this i tried Speed Control to adjust the timing of the video strip leaving the audio untouched, by adding/effect strip/speed control to the video strip, and trying speed up the pictures to the final length of the audio strip, with no luck, like explained by Mikeycal Meyers tutorial: Speed up & Slow Down Audio/Video [this video] the source video is from an android phone using avc1 with a frame rate of 23.283544 acording to vlc player. somebody an

You can change [this video] an Audio Strip s speed by changing/animating it's pitch . Though it has to be done independant from your videos Speed Control strip. [LINK] And it will (as it is labled) change your pitch. So if you want to maintain the pitch but only change the speed that has to be done [LINK] in another audio editor like Audacity.

First of all, I can really recommend mikeycalmeyers videos on youtube [LINK] . He has a whole series exlaining how to do video editing with Blender. To answer your question, there are multiple ways to trim [LINK] : Option 1) Select your video and audio by holding shift and right clicking on them. Then put the green marker at the moment in time where you want to make a cut. From the menu just below your video sequence editor (the one with the tracks) choose Strip > Cut (soft) at frame , or press the shortcut key K . This will split it into separate parts, so you can delete the parts you want to remove. Option 2) Select the arrows on the left side of both your video and audio tracks by holding
