> There's plenty of videos of white people being killed by police that you all just ignore. Two perfect examples are the videos of Daniel Leetin Shaver ( [this video] ) and Tony Timpa ( [LINK] ). Ending qualified immunity, no-knock warrants, civil asset forfeiture, over-criminalization, mandatory minimums and militarization of police are not race specific issues. They affect all Americans.

> You can't logically defeat bigots in a way that actually matters to them. The goal of public debate is never to persuade the person you're debating, it's to persuade those watching the debate. Sometimes you can persuade the person you're talking to, but that take a lot more sophisticated understanding of the other person than you're going to achieve if you simply dismiss them as illogical. > If this were the case, then there wouldn't be bigots. That simply doesn't follow. Bigots do change their minds sometimes, slowly over time. > The existence of systemic racism is not controversial among experts and hasn't been for a long time. Yet people insist on arguing about it forever. They don't ca

Who the hell are these juries that are allowing cops to get away with murder? As much as people like to complain about how corrupt the police are in how they cover up for each other, cases like this are decided by juries. EDIT: If you haven't seen the video [0], you really should before commenting. This cop had no interest in actually apprehending Daniel Shaver. If he did, he would've done a more standard procedure like telling him to lay on his stomach with his hands either forward or on his back. There was no reason to tell him to walk forward on his knees, legs cross behind him, and arms up. You try doing that. Maintaining balance is a bit difficult. Now imagine trying to do that with the

> How effective has "confronting fascism with the truth" ever been, when the fascist is not being upfront about it, but rather posting hundreds of subtly racist memes and dog whistles to reddit? I don't feel like I did this question justice with my previous answer. The most obvious example would be the George Floyd video, and in a larger sense, the extremely effective tool of filming police as they harass, plant evidence on, beat, and murder the people they're supposed to serve. In the current situation, I think the results of that video speak for themselves. In response to the pervasive narrative that focuses on looters and not on cops murdering black people (I linked to five minutes in, bu

That's funny[0]. I'm not American, so don't pull the white guilt card on me. I've spent a total of 12 days in the US in my life, and I was pointed a gun by the police once. That's infinity percent more than in any other country I've lived visited or lived in, and I've traveled my fair share off the beaten path. When they saw their mistake, they spouted the generic excuse that I matched a description, something that wouldn't fly in any other first world country, but is somehow accepted in the US. Anyway, I'm white and I did nothing wrong, so I guess that officer just pointed that gun as joke with no intention to kill,[1] right? Well, not quite. Cops can do this: [this video] And get away with it as a "justified" killing. Any regular person in the same situation would have been convicted of murder.
