Don't worry, everyone has been on your place. Let me recommend you this channel, it's nice for beginers, and this concrete video talks about your case, movement: [this video] hope it helps!

You don't have to create 2 separate codes to create a first-person controller, that is what I think you are trying to do. You only have to do one that goes to the player. The camera has to be the child of the player and be inside of it. You have to tell the player that when you press Up or Down they have to move in that direction, First, you have to detect if the player is pressing up or down, with the function: Input.GetAxis("Horizontal") will give 1 when the Up is pressed and -1 when the Down is pressed and 0 if anything else is pressed. After that, you have to tell him witch id to go: transform.formward, in front of him, and multiply by the velocity you want. [SerializeField] Vector3 move

when I jump up to an object that is a cube I reach the step offset and it jitters for a little bit before falling to the ground again. I can remove the step offset altogether but that's not what I want as my game is baste around parkour. when I was making this I was following a Brackeys tutorial on YouTube. Brackeys tutorial. I am very new to coding and i am trying to make a FPS, but i can't get the jumping mechanic to work. I am following a tutorial of Brackeys : [this video] I have tried changing the standard jumping bind, i have tried using GetKeyDown(KeyCode.Space) instead of using GetButtonDown("Jump") , but nothing seems to work. Anybody knows how to fix this? I love you. Have been struggling for 16 hours now... using System.Collections.Generic; using UnityEngine; public class playermm : MonoBehaviour { public CharacterController controller; public float speed = 12f; public float gravity = -9.81f; public float jumpHeight = 3f; public Transform groundCheck; public float groundDistance = 0.4f; public LayerMask gro

Here is a video by Brackeys, on first person movement: [this video] He also made a video about on third person movement: [LINK] Though his movement system doesn't use physics. If you want a physics based movement system, you can use Dani's Karlson movement script: [LINK] He also made a video on it if your still confused: [LINK]

I think we will need a little more information. Do you have a rigidbody and collider attached to the camera? What update Loop are you using? Update() or FixedUpdate() Are you moving the camera at all or just rotating? I personally have never used the default FPS controller, so I cannot speak from experience, but I can say that there are a hundred ways to make look rotation work and none of them should cause jitters. if you are new, I would recommend having a look at this: [this video] rather than diving into a control using cinemachine from the get go.

they way u codded that camera rotation system is great, but it might have some problems , i highly recommend following a guy called Brakeys [this video] on youtube that made a perfect moving and rotating systems . anyway u can use a method called Mathf.Clamp to set the minimal and maximum numbers of a float without exceeding those limits . this is an example that isn't going to work but rather demonstration. float cameraLimits = Mathf.Clamp(MouseY, 20 ,90);

I want to make a fps game. To create first person viewer I followed this tutorial [this video] I followed everything that he told to do and I could successfully look up or down but could not look sideways. Here`s the code: using System.Collections; using System.Collections.Generic; using UnityEngine; public class mouselook : MonoBehaviour { float mousesenitivevity = 100f; public Transform player_eyes; float xRotation = 0f; // Start is called before the first frame update void Start() { Cursor.lockState = CursorLockMode.Locked; } // Update is called once per frame void Update() { float mouseX = Input.GetAxis("Mouse X") * mousesenitivevity * Time.deltaTime; float mouseY = Input.GetAxis("Mouse Y") *

You first have to choose what kind of movement you want to accomplish i.e: 1st person, 3rd person etc . And saying that YouTube tutorials don't work definitely means you are missing something. Here are some good tutorials for different 3d movement. Please follow them thoroughly. 1st Person: [this video] [LINK] 3rd Person: [LINK] You can find a ton more movement systems on Google. Your movement depends on your usage. You have to use a different approach if you want it to be Character Controller based than Rigidbody based. So learn the basics, and then experiment on your own until you are happy with it.
