For those that would like to hear a mind blowing discussion about climate (and the earth in general), watch all of the podcasts with Joe Rogan, Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock. They are three hours each and I promise you will learn many things that give perspective on the repeat arguments and confusion about the climate. Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock have been on the Joe Rogan Experience a few times over the years, together and separately, and have explained their well documented theory about Atlantis. The short of it would be, before the Younger Dryas period when the massive ice sheets over North America melted, the ocean levels were approximately 300 ft lower than they are today. When you look at the mid-atlantic ridge, the lower sea levels would expose an area now called the Azores Plateau. This would be a large habitable island off the coast of Europe. This becomes especially interesting when you take into account the timeline of Plato's account which exactly lines up with the beginning of the Young

Look, there are all sorts of schools of thought on how these things were built, but none of them were conclusive. I'm not saying it was rock-melting alien technology, but it was clearly some form of advanced technology we are unable to duplicate or conceive was available to the builders. Here's where to go to get on the Graham Hancock/Randall Carlson train, in case you haven't seen it: [this video] Some interesting observations which are counter to the narrative: [LINK]

Have you guys checked out the episode on JRE with Graham Hancock? [0] They talk about the Bronze Age China and Göbekli Tepe. At the time I was seemingly convinced why the academic community wouldn't let these new theories flourish despite the archeological evidence. I was not aware of the work by Hanson so I can not comment on that. A similar thread on HN in the past [1]. [0] [this video] [1] [LINK]

Ha, definitely a long shot. I was watching a Joe Rogan podcast: [this video] . In summary, there's evidence for a cataclysmic asteroid strike 12K years ago that nearly wiped out humanity. If true that upends traditional archaeological theories and suggests that humanity rebooted 12K years ago instead of a gradual move from hunter-gatherer to society. What the world was like before the reboot is unknown, but maybe we were advanced enough for space travel?

Joe Rogan had some interesting guys, Graham Hancock & Randall Carlson, that talked about lost civilizations due to asteroid in 10,000 BC. Sounded like there is some controversy around it though, so take it however you'd like. [this video]
