How to Build a True Digital Twin with Self-Configuring Models Using the Material Handling Library
Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it when asking how to generate or auto-build AnyLogic models from database or Excel data, and Benjamin himself points people to it for code-driven model creation.

What it is
An AnyLogic webinar hosted by simulation expert Benjamin Schumann on building self-configuring models with the Material Handling Library. The model loads conveyors, machines and AGV transporters from simple input data at startup, using agent populations and flow-chart blocks with little code.

For graphical editing, there are 2 options here: You can easily split your model into chunks. Either put them into different agent types or even across several models. Much lighter during development using the GUI. And the latter even allows working with several people in parallel. The former is easier to setup, though. If you want to get into developing models without any graphical editing, this is also possible. See my AnyLogic workshop [this video] on the topic as a starter. You need to have a solid foundation in OOP and Java though.

There is no pre-defined way to do this, attractors are chosen internally without you having any influence. Therefore, you would need to create an AgentType myAttractor which is a single attractor. Creating an agent population of it, you can then fine-control who goes where, what attractors are "off limits", etc. However, you need to add the agent attractors dynamically to your pedestrian space, which is not straight forward. Welcome to AnyLogic and SOF. First, help us help you: "I wrote some code but it didn't work" is not helpful :) . Second, check my workshop on the matter: it shows many of the required concepts: [this video]

Check this webinar. Totally possible but not trivial and you do need a considerable amount of experience: [this video]

I am referencing Benjamin Schumann's tutorial guide on building a self-configuring model [this video] and also downloaded the resource files to work on. However, I realize that the model animation starts to freeze after a long run time (eg. 30,000 secs) [LINK] and at this point, the model also becomes very laggy in response to clicks. I have built my model with reference to the key concepts taught in the video and also faces the same issue now. What are the causes of these and how can it be rectified? Thank you for any help!

I am developing a simulation model of an automated distribution centre following the self-configuring approach explained in Benjamin Schumann's tutorial guide ( [this video] ). Since the modelled environment is different, I am trying to use the same approach but with different agent types. Another difference is that I am using agent encapsulation. What I am experiencing is that as the model size increases (number of self-configured agents), the model takes a long time to start the simulation. When the model size increases even further, I get a chrome error page like the one below. [LINK] When I get the error, I am trying to create about 6100 agents, even though I am giving the simulation experime

I am developing the project proposed by Benjamin in his tutorial: [this video] . However, when I set the foreign keys in the db_conveyors table, the foreign keys are unresolved without a clear reason. Any thoughts why?
