What it is

A short screencast by Creel that shows how to call a function written in pure x64 assembly (MASM) from a C++ project in Visual Studio 2010. It is the first lesson in a series and assumes the 64-bit build setup from the preceding tutorial 0.

I am trying to learn x64 assembly using Visual Studion 2010. I was following this video tutorial : x64 Assembly and C++ Tutorial 1: Getting into x64 ASM from C++ [this video] As it says, I installed Visual Studio 2010, windows 7 SDK 3.5 (ISO install) and edited the configuration. But when I compile the code, I get following error : C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\BuildCustomizations\masm.targets(49,5): error MSB3721: The command "ml64.exe /c /nologo /Zi /Fo"x64\Debug\asm.obj" /W3 /errorReport:prompt /Taasm.asm" exited with code 1. What is this problem, and how can I solve it?

I was about to start learning x64 assembly using this [this video] tutorial (series) but setting up Visual C++ Express just isn't working. I Have the x64 version installed and I even downloaded and installed the windows 7 SDK. [LINK] However even after installing this package I still don't have the option to select the x64 platform in the configuraion manager (watch the tutorial to see what I mean, its at approx. 4:00) I have tried restarting C++, but that doesn't work either. Whilst there are much sources on how to make the x64 compiler working they all explain the same steps which are the ones I did. The only thing I can think of is either re-installing c++ or rebooting. EDIT: Rebooting doesn't

I'm attempting to learn assembly from a series of very good tutorials posted on youtube: [this video] I'm familar with C++ and Java programming in netbeans and I am using the MinGW compiler set. I have my C++ and assemblier compilers set in the netbeans complier properties. My C++ code is compiling however using _asm {} to attempt inline assembly code isn't compling properly. The error I recieve is : main.cpp: In function 'int getValueFromASM()': main.cpp:18:5: error: '_asm' was not declared in this scope main.cpp:18:10: error: expected ';' before '{' token make[2]: *** [build/Debug/MinGW_1-Windows/main.o] Error 1 make[1]: *** [.build-conf] Error 2 make: *** [.build-impl] Error 2 The code is: #in

I have an issue with Visual Studio 2015. I am following an x64 Assembly Tutorial [this video] series on YouTube, but there is an issue. When I use the watch tool to check the value of the EAX register it always displays the value of 3435973836. Here is what my program looks like: Visual Studio screenshot: " [LINK] " Main.cpp #include <iostream> #include <conio.h> using namespace std; extern "C" int GetValueFromASM(); int main() { cout << "ASM said: " << GetValueFromASM() << endl; _getch(); return 0; } ASMFunctions.asm .code GetValueFromASM proc mov eax, 78 ret GetValueFromASM endp end
