Why Stack Overflow recommends it

Stack Overflow users link it when someone needs a step-by-step walkthrough of deploying a WCF service to IIS instead of running it locally.

Recommended by 2 people across 2 different months, 2011 to 2012.

What it is

A roughly 9-minute screencast in which Aaron Skonnard of Pluralsight shows how to host a WCF service in IIS. He starts from a simple existing service, hosts it in ASP.NET via a .svc file, adds a couple of endpoints, and then registers it as an IIS application.

If it is WCF service, you should host it as WCF service, namely as IIS application. Here is good screencast of that: [this video]

@Jonathan, my web service was created by following the "WCF Screencast - Hosting WCF Services in IIS" link [this video] from pluralsight in youtube. Basically, i used Visual Studio 2008 template "WCF Service Library" to create the project and then add a new web site using WCF Service, and published to IIS server. So, how can you be sure my service is not WCF?
