What it is

A short screencast by Ryan Cromwell showing how to install and use the Chutzpah test adapter in Visual Studio 2012 to run Jasmine JavaScript tests from the Test Explorer, outside the browser. It walks through a basic setup in about four and a half minutes.

Here's a pretty useful video to get you started with Chutzpah and Jasmine ... [this video] I don't think if you add Require js it is going to make much difference to the demo in the video in terms of how you set things up.

I am working to include JavaScript unit testing into an ASP.NET project that I am working on. I have installed the Chutzpah Adapter and Jasmine. After carefully following the direction provided by this Ryan Cromwell video [this video] for installing and setting up the environment, I am encountering a similar error as this post for issues with Chutzpah and QUnit [LINK] , however I am using Jasmine instead of QUnit and his solution does not appear to apply, at least not in the same way. Here's the JavaScript being tested (WebApp.Utils.js). The function being tested is method of the WebApp.Utils "class" defined using the "Revealing Module" pattern (not sure if that's relevant or not) ... var WebApp

I cannot get the Visual Studio 2012 Adapter to work. I'm only posting this question after several unsuccessful hours trying to get it to work. The .html file is being generated correctly but the results don't show. The context menu runner works - it displays results correctly in the Output window. I notice when I look in the source of the generated .html file the references are to the jasmine files (and others) in the extensions directory. When I ran the page using chrome dev tools and stepped through the code there was an error because the JavaScript could not access the file path (which is what I would expect). I'm planning a full JavaScript app for my next major project (node backend) and

Is it practical/possible to separate jasmine tests into a separate visual studio project? I am just getting started with angular, and am trying to write my tests before I start on the actual angular implementation. I will be writing my project in Visual Studio 2012 with the Chutzpah test runner , see this video [this video] . Currently, I am trying to figure out how to organize my folder structure. I know about angular-seed and yeoman, but those are ill suited to starting a .net project. I am assuming that since unit tests in Visual Studio are usually separated into a separate test project, by convention, the jasmine tests should, too. However, for java script, there are no project dlls to refere

I've even tried a very basic setup under my project as shown in this video [this video] and it still doesn't discover the tests. I feel like something is getting in the way of it.
