Why Stack Overflow recommends it

Stack Overflow users link it when answering questions about analyzing Firebase Analytics exports in BigQuery, such as funnel analysis, custom event averages and the nested event schema.

Recommended by 2 people across 1 different months, 2018 to 2018.

What it is

A 41-minute talk from the Firebase Dev Summit 2017 in which Todd Kerpelman explains how Google Analytics for Firebase data is laid out in BigQuery. He then builds queries to answer common analytics questions and shares tips for working with the exported data.

I am exploring the power of Google Biguery with the GDELT database using this tutorial [LINK] however the sql dialect is in 'legacy' and I would like to use the standard dialect. In legacy dialect: SELECT theme, COUNT(*) AS count FROM ( SELECT REGEXP_REPLACE(SPLIT(V2Themes,';'), r',.*',"") theme from [gdelt-bq:gdeltv2.gkg] where DATE>20150302000000 and DATE < 20150304000000 and V2Persons like '%Netanyahu%' ) group by theme ORDER BY 2 DESC LIMIT 300 and when I try to translate into standard dialect: SELECT theme, COUNT(*) AS count FROM ( SELECT REGEXP_REPLACE(SPLIT(V2Themes,';') , r',.*', " ") AS theme FROM `gdelt-bq.gdeltv2.gkg` WHERE DATE>20150302000000 AND DATE < 20150304000000 AND V2Perso

After a couple of days search, it seems like these cannot be done by Firebase Analytics. The only options remaining is to link the Firebase Project with Google Cloud BigQuery and then query and find the ave(value) and mentioned timestamp. To visualize the queried data, export the BigQuery dataset to Google Data Studio and design your own analytical dashboard using the imported dataset. I have then embedded the Data Studio graphs in our website. [LINK] [LINK] and here is a very useful tutorial: [this video] This sounds very basic for Google Cloud Developers, but it was new for me.

I'm trying to start a datawarehouse project, this is what I would like my schema to look like: table: event_log schema: -> info -> user_id: "xyz" -> user_properties // <- I want this to be array like -> 0 -> key: "name -> value -> int_value: null -> string_value: "osp" ... -> 1 // and it goes on The problem is I don't know how to programatically define this array like structure. I took the idea from here: [this video] here is my code (kotlin using the java google cloud library) so far: val tableId = TableId.of(datasetName, tableName) // First part, general field val generalInfoFields = ArrayList<Field>() generalInfoFields.add(Field.of("user_id", LegacySQLTypeName.STRING)) generalInfoFields.add(Fi

The app_remove event is logged automatically on Android. You don't need to write any code for it. If you want to be able to analyze how many people completed the tutorial before uninstalling, you should log your own custom event (e.g. finished_tutorial ) when the user finished the tutorial. Then you can compare the event counts in the dashboard, or do more complex funnel analysis in BigQuery [this video] .
