What it is
A 47-minute iOS Swift tutorial by Daniel Autenrieth that walks through building a reusable sidebar menu control. It uses iOS blur effects and UIDynamics for the animations, and the project files were later updated in 2016.

So I just did a tutorial on adding a blurry sidebar menu. I replicated the code but I cant seem to find out how to call my other ViewControllers I made in storyboard mode. I have created files and linked them to UIViewControllers . But when I try to call that ViewController with my sidebar menu I'm getting a black screen. Here is the link of the files I used to follow along [LINK] And here is the link of the youtube video I followed along with [this video] Not sure why! Any help would be greatly appreciated class ViewController: UIViewController, SideBarDelegate { var sideBar:SideBar = SideBar() // Side Bar override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() // Side bar action and text sideBar = Si

I have been to following this guide [ [this video] for the creation of a swift sidebar menu: The code compiles, with out errors... I must be missing something simple somewhere....The menu does not appear. Please assist me with locating this issue. The code for the menu is listed below in three files: ViewController.swift: import UIKit class ViewController: UIViewController, SideBarDelegate { var sideBar:SideBar = SideBar() override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() sideBar = SideBar(sourceView: self.view, menuItems: ["first item","second item","third item"]) } override func didReceiveMemoryWarning() { super.didReceiveMemoryWarning() // Dispose of any resources that can be recreated. } func

I am trying to follow the guide found here to create a swift sidebar menu: [this video] I have reached the following function: override func tableView(tableView: UITableView!, cellForRowAtIndexPath indexPath: NSIndexPath!) -> UITableViewCell! { var cell:UITableViewCell? = tableView.dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier("Cell") as? UITableViewCell if cell == nil{ cell = UITableViewCell(style :UITableViewCellStyle.Default, reuseIdentifier: "Cell") // Configure the cell... cell!.backgroundColor = UIColor.clearColor() cell!.textLabel.textColor = UIColor.darkTextColor() let selectedView:UIView = UIView(frame: CGRect (x: 0, y:0, width: cell!.frame.size.width, height: cell!.frame.size.height)) selectedView.

I am using Brian Advent's video on making a blurry sidebar using the UIBlur effect ( [this video] ). However, in his video, he does not explain how to link each item of the table to a separate View Controller - he only explains how to make the single View Controller turn red. Could somebody please explain to me how to do this? The relevant code is as follows: func sideBarDidSelectButtonAtIndex(index: Int) { if index == 0{ imageView.backgroundColor = UIColor.whiteColor() imageView.image = nil } else if index == 1{ imageView.backgroundColor = UIColor.clearColor() imageView.image = UIImage(named: "image2") } }
