What it is
An 11-minute tutorial by Be A Better Dev that builds a REST endpoint with AWS API Gateway backed by a Python Lambda function. It covers writing a basic handler, creating the API Gateway resource, wiring it to the Lambda, and testing the endpoint in a browser.

in api gateway you can choose to do an lambda proxy integration by pointing the lambda function you have choosen to the api gateway. By doing this, api gateway will pass the event object it obtained to the lambda. this video may help: [this video]

You can use AWS (Amazon Web Services). Their free tier allows many of their services for free (12 months, and usage limit) including the ones I would recommend you for this project: Make an AWS account. Use S3 storage buckets to host a datafile. Use API Gateway to make an API. Use Lambda to run a Python/Javascript in the cloud which connects the API with the S3 bucket (your data). Use IAM to create roles and permissions for the S3 bucket, API and Lambda scripts to communicate. Here's how you set up the API: [this video] Here's how you read the S3 bucket: [LINK] You can also work with these tools to set up an API that PUTS data to the S3 bucket and updates the data regularly.

So I been trying to download a file from a s3 bucket through a python rest api hosted in AWS. I followed a template of an proper rest api in such environment using this video [this video] . However, I have no ideia at all how to pass a file to the response. Here is my code: import json, traceback, boto3 from AWSHelper import DynamoDBHelper, S3Helper dynamodbH = DynamoDBHelper() s3H = S3Helper('vini-bucket2') def lambda_handler(event, context): response = {} response['headers'] = {} try: for key in event['queryStringParameters']: try: event['queryStringParameters'][key] = int(event['queryStringParameters'][key]) except: pass fn = dynamodbH.select('files', event['queryStringParameters'])['FileName'
