@Evin1_ sorry for the confusion.....try checking out also this tutorial... [this video] ..... the user and password is generated when the app user successful is registered then to be able to get in, the app user should input the correct username and password.

I have done all what you said but its still the same. I have activity_main in my layout folder. Also, if i take import android.R; out, it says R cant not be solve as a variable every time i try to revoke it. here is the youtube video im trying to follow. [this video] his works but mine doesnt

I am trying to create a login/register app, following the steps in this youtube tutorial [this video] The app should allow me to switch between Login page, Register page and the Main Activity which will allow me to log out. When I press the logout button it takes me to the login page as expected, when I click the TextView "tvRegisterHere" I should be taken to the register page, however the app simply stops running and this error message appears in logcat "Attempt to invoke virtual method 'void android.widget.Button.setOnClickListener(android.view.View$OnClickListener)' on a null object reference". I have declared both Login and Register in the Android Manifest. I have searched around for examples
