Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it when answering questions about UI jank, async code and isolate internals in Dart and Flutter.

What it is
A Google I/O 2022 session from the Flutter team where Michael Thomsen and Michael Goderbauer explain how Dart isolates and event loops work. They use that theory to show when and where to move work off the main isolate in a Flutter app.

Future.wait([future1(), future2(), future3()]) Run the 3 futures in parallel. It's better than: await future1(); await future2(); await future3(); The following example explain the benefits of Future.wait([]): Future<String> getValue1() { return Future.delayed(Duration(seconds: 2),() => "value1"); } Future<String> getValue() { return Future.delayed(Duration(seconds: 2), () => "value2"); } void main(List<String> arguments) async { var stp = Stopwatch()..start(); await Future.wait([getValue(),getValue1()]); stp.stop(); print("when you execute it with Future.wait: ${stp.elapsedMilliseconds}"); var stp2 = Stopwatch()..start(); await getValue1(); await getValue(); stp2.stop(); print("when you exe

In Flutter, everything is executed in a single thread. In your case, your UI and getContacts() are processing on your main thread. But the getContacts() is enough expensive and it makes busy the main thread. To avoid the problem you need to use MultiThread for the getContacts() method so that it could not hamper the main thread and UI can use the main thread and run without lag. You need a clear idea about Threading . For that I suggest some resource that can help you. Read [LINK] [LINK] [this video]

I'm trying to understand how memory and processes like garbage collection are implemented in isolate groups in Dart. The article Introduction to Dart VM [LINK] at the time of this writing includes the following image: [LINK] However, this image was made prior to isolate groups that entered the stable branch in Dart 2.15. My question is, what has changed internally about the image above after the addition of isolate groups? Related research: [LINK] [LINK] [LINK] [LINK] [LINK] [this video]
