I'm not sure what the purpose of your application is (and thus the best way to deploy), but there are fairly easy steps to deploying a Django project on a Windows IIS Server. Here is a guide Deploy Django on Windows using Microsoft IIS [this video] and the code to follow along GitHub/webproject [LINK] Additionally, here's an article by Microsoft on how to deploy a Python project Configure Python web apps for IIS [LINK] . The article guides you through steps on how to deploy Django projects with IIS, and how to configure your project's web.config files. The article is not fully detailed, so that's why I include my own tutorial above which provides step-by-step process on deploying a Django project

It's difficult to figure what your environment situation may be, but you may me missing a Virtual link to your static directory in IIS. Also, you will need a web.config in your static directory. Your project will require a total of two web.config files. Here is an example of what your static directory should look like [LINK] You can review that project and follow along in the tutorial Deploy Django on Windows using Microsoft IIS [this video]

Microsoft IIS creates something called AppPool [LINK] . By default you will have a user IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool . That user needs to have permissions to your database and other necessary files to read and write. If they do not, it will return the 500 error. You can look at this clip here to see how to fix the error Django on IIS with 500 error [this video] . In order to give permissions you can follow these steps Right-click your Django project folder Properties --> Security Edit --> Add: IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool or whatever app pool you're using Restart your server and test again Edit I didn't see that you attached an image. I think you need to allow IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool access to Pyt

I think this error is caused by the misplacement of your web.config file. Also, there appear to be missing some parameters under appSettings Your config file should look like [LINK] <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <configuration> <system.webServer> <handlers> <add name="Python FastCGI" path="*" verb="*" modules="FastCgiModule" scriptProcessor="<to be filled in>" resourceType="Unspecified" requireAccess="Script" /> </handlers> </system.webServer> <appSettings> <add key="PYTHONPATH" value="C:\inetpub\wwwroot\webproject" /> <add key="WSGI_HANDLER" value="webproject.wsgi.application" /> <add key="DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE" value="webproject.settings" /> </appSettings> </configuration> Here i

I had this same issue (Error code 0x00000067) and have been beating my head against a wall for 24 hours. I am new to Windows servers, but have been deploying Django Apps on Linux servers for over a decade. In my case, I had deviated from the Johnnyboycurtis tutorial you referenced in a few ways: I tried to install every python package in a virtual environment I did not install Python at C:\, but rather hidden under my user's AppData\local\Programs\Python dir (the default) I am assuming that your app works when running the Django Development server ( py manage.py runserver -> [LINK] ) your app looks as expected (when DEBUG = True in settings.py) Fixing my code install meant taking the followi

I'm facing an issue with my Django Application Deployment. I have followed several tutorials ( lastly this one : [this video] ) to help me deploy my application, I don't understand why my Handler is not working. Here is my web.config file : <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <configuration> <system.webServer> <handlers> <add name="Python FastCGI" path="*" verb="*" modules="FastCgiModule" scriptProcessor="c:\users\xxx\documents\github\app_folder\scripts\python.exe|c:\users\xxx\documents\github\app_folder\lib\site-packages\wfastcgi.py" resourceType="Unspecified" requireAccess="Script" /> </handlers> </system.webServer> <appSettings> <add key="PYTHONPATH" value="C:\Users\xxx\Documents\GitHub\app

My organization has implemented a web application in Django, and we need to host it on a Windows system. We are using Django 3.2.8 and Python 3.8.8.
