I want to dual boot Debian and Windows 8, installed on separate disks. This is what I've done so far, following this tutorial [this video] . My drive config & partitioning is as follows: /dev/sda1 - Windows System Reserved /dev/sda2 - Windows 8 partition /dev/sdb1 - NTFS partition (where I keep Windows data) /dev/sdb2 - Linux swap /dev/sdb3 - Debian /dev/sdc1 - Live CD (explained later) Both swap and Debian are primary partitions. During installation I got this error: GRUB installation failed (which was fine according to the tutorial) Now the tutorial suggests installing the GrubEFI, using a Live Ubuntu USB (dev/sdc) that boots into EFI. The problem is I'm supposed to find a EFI system partition,

I am following the instructions described here [LINK] and here [this video] My EFI-partition is /dev/sda2 , but the following command does not work: mount /dev/sda2 /boot/efi It says it cannot find the mount point. I also tried /mnt/boot/efi (doesn't work either) and /mnt/ (works, but grub cannot find the EFI-directory when attempting the steps afterwards). I skipped the installation of GRUB during the Debian installation because it failed to find my Windows installation and I suspected that it would break the EFI partition if it is not aware of a Windows installation.

My new notebook came from the factory with Windows 8 on two 128GB SSDs in RAID 0 mode. I wanted to dual boot it with a Linux distro, I settled on Debian, so I resized my C: drive as one normally would to free up some space for the Linux install. I installed from debian-live-7.8.0-amd64-kde-desktop which runs on Linux kernel 3.2.0-4 . I initially followed these instructions on Debian wiki [LINK] for installing on SataRAID aka BIOS RAID. I deviated from the instructions on the wiki in step 8, as the Debian rescue install console did not give me the option to mount and use /dev/dm-? as the root fs and I needed to set up Debian to boot in UEFI mode via Ubuntu Live anyway, primarily using instruc
