Google Drive SDK: Writing your first Drive app on Android
Why Stack Overflow recommends it
Stack Overflow users link it when setting up the Drive Android quickstart, and Google's own Drive developer advocate points people to it when authorization or library setup fails.
Recommended by 2 people across 2 different months, 2012 to 2013.
What it is
A 2012 Google Developers session that walks through building a first Google Drive app on Android from scratch. The finished app uses the device camera to take pictures and upload them to Drive, with setup and authorization covered step by step.

You need to add the Google Play Services [LINK] jars to your project, as explained in Step 3 of the quickstart guide [LINK] you are following. You can also watch this video where I go through all the steps to build the same quickstart application for Android: [this video]

It seems like that the initial resumable upload request [LINK] is failing, probably because of failed authorization, and that is causing the NullPointerException. Make sure you are using the latest version of the client library and double check your credentials in the APIs Console, package name and SHA1 fingerprint. If that still doesn't work, try following the step-by-step video that goes through the setup of the same quickstart application: [this video]

I'm working on an Android app where I need to write to a Google Drive spreadsheet. There's a quick start video on "Google Developers Live" that seems to go through most of the required steps, but for the library usage they just say to click some button in Eclipse. I'm not using Eclipse though and would like to make this work with a maven project. What libraries are required and how can I get them all using maven? Here's the part of the video I'm talking about: [this video] Also, I've found this SO post [LINK] and the latest edit says to use the Drive API V2 but a google api client is linked. I'm not exactly sure what's needed or if perhaps something has changed since then.

Thanks, that's kind of what I figured it might be related to but can't fix it. I followed the video here: [this video] to set everything up exactly. I had initially added the Drive SDK service, fixed that so now it's Drive API, used `keytool -exportcert -alias androiddebugkey -keystore ~/.android/debug.keystore -list -v` to get the debug SHA1, still nothing.

I'm developing an android app with Drive API. When I try to test the app on my tablet or smartphone it works. Now I have to publish on Play Store my app so I signed the apk through Eclipse. The problem is that after this operation the apk doesn't work. At first I followed this tutorial: Google Drive SDK: Writing your first Drive app on Android [this video] So I downloaded, using Google plugin for Eclupse, Drive API v2 In libs folder of my project is present the google-play-services.jar My proguard.cfg is this [I created this file because the default version was not working]: -printmapping proguard.map -renamesourcefileattribute ProGuard -keepattributes SourceFile,LineNumberTable -optimizationpass
