What it is
A 2016 screencast by Jared Davidson showing how to set up remote push notifications in an iOS app using Firebase, written in Swift 2 in Xcode. It covers configuring APNs certificates and wiring up Firebase Cloud Messaging. The author notes that Swift 3 changed the syntax but the logic still applies.

On YouTube, Jared Davidson offers some great iOS tutorials. He has two on notifications: This one is just what you need: [LINK] ...and there's one for remote notifications (not with a button) [this video]

Finally found the solution after struggling for almost 1 month. These are the basic steps Firs off all you need to make sure that you have an active apple developers account just enable firebase push notifications here ie the link of youtube video for this step [this video] Now your app is set up for firebase remote notifications but we can only trigger them from the firebase console so here is the tricky part. here is the link of video to enable firebase console on your mac [LINK] for the first time it will be good to see this video [LINK] too because in this video they'll learn to write code in node.js and deploy it to the firebase. Now if anyone wants to make an API instead of making a trigger

I am currently testing an app in TestFlight and need a production APNs certificate in order to test Notifications in Firebase. I have followed all of the steps in this video and successfully configured the development APNs certificate: [this video] I've also checked that my steps following the Firebase support guide. Although I note that the Apple Developer site has changed slightly since this guide was written: [LINK] I have generated a production APNs certificate at developer.apple.com using the same method as the development certificate but when I try to upload the .p12 file to Firebase, it gives me the following error: "The certificate environment did not match. So I just implemented (well attempted to) Push Notifications for my app. I have sorted all the certificates out and have everything running within Xcode. I uploaded my .p12 file to Firebase in the development section and even downloaded the provisioning profile and reinstalled it into my project. This is the code in my AppDelegate.swift file Updated code: import UIKit import Firebase import FirebaseMessaging @UIApplicationMain class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate { var window: UIWindow? var storyboard: UIStoryboard? func application(application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [NSObject: AnyObject]?) -> Bool { FIRApp.configure() // Override point

I hope this post does not get marked down as I genuinely am unable to find a good starting point. I am looking for a solution to send push notifications to users when there is an update to FIRDatabase. Just imagine building a chat app, which users receive a notification when they receive a new message. I attempted with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), but I could not get any further past sending notifications from Firebase Console manually like so in the following tutorials: [LINK] [this video] I have spent nearly 2 hours searching for more tutorials on youtube and everywhere else but this area seems scarce. Can anyone advice any tutorial that I can begin with, or is my approach even correct in th

I am attempting to send a simple push notification from the firebase notification console to a specific device using an FCM token. The firebase notification console shows the notification as sent but the device does not receive it. I have tried sending the notification and then waiting to see if the console logs from didReceiveRemoteNotification , but the notification takes too long (hours) to be shown as sent in the firebase console (even when I set the priority to high ). App Delegate import UIKit import Firebase import FirebaseStorage import FirebaseDatabase import FirebaseMessaging import CoreData import UserNotifications @UIApplicationMain class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDe

I think in your situation, Firebase Console would be fine for sending notifications to both your iOS and Android application. After configuring your application with firebase cloud messaging you are able to send notifications. for your other doubt if any user download your application or update with the new build integrated with Firebase Cloud messaging, they will receive notifications. FCM gives you option to send Single(via : device token for specific iPhone) or to all users who had downloaded the application with FCM integration. so you don’t need to store any user data on your server ! for “ How can you send notifications “ you can check these references : - [LINK] - Google Firebase Docs
