Why do you think this isn't safe? It should be safe, however there are better ways to do it. I would use context [LINK] . I recommend you to check this project by WebDevSimplified [LINK] . He also has a [this video] explaining all process of the development. (He used firebase as his backend)

If you want to have the Home component to stay mounted you are likely going to need to 'unmount' it with css. So if the route isn't exactly '/' you would add display: none; to the app component. You could also structure the component to return null when the route isn't '/' and return the desired markup otherwise. This way you can always mount it but wouldn't render anything. I think better than either of these would be to wrap your Switch with a context and initiate your fetch from this context. Then you can control have one source of control for your firestore fetch and just read from the context as needed. This video shows an example of this [this video]

I have been working on a react login service for a website (from a YouTube video) [this video] and I have been running into an issue. To preface, JavaScript is not a language I am particularly good at and I know very little about react, so please forgive any gaping holes in my knowledge of the topic. I have attempted to make a context called PrivateRoute that serves as a Route accessible only by a logged in user. The website works when the / extension is under a Route tag, but when I change it to my custom PrivateRoute tag it says that I cannot call anything other than a Route tag inside a Routes tag. I believe the video that I am watching is using a different version of NPM and react, so that ma

I was following this tutorial [this video] regarding Firebase authentication components. I'm creating a webapp in react js and following this tutorials: [this video] can someone explain this piece of code to me. return currentUser ? <Outlet /> : <Navigate to="/login" />; I understand that if currentUser is null then it redirects to login. Is there a way to make it return a different page if not null?

I'm making a web authentication app in react based on a [this video] (approx 20 min in)and have been running into an odd issue. I saw someone post a similar question at the same point in development but I don't believe I have the same issue. I'm not getting any errors, the only issue I am having is on the error messages showing. When I submit an email and pair of mismatched passwords it should give me an error message, but I cannot get it to display any errors. This is the code: ./index.js import React from 'react'; import ReactDOM from 'react-dom/client'; import App from './components/App'; import 'bootstrap/dist/css/bootstrap.min.css'; const root = ReactDOM.createRoot(document.getElementById('r
