Are you sure ? Thats the way i learned that. I am not using the dispatch Hook to be clear. [this video] . For example he is doing that as well

So I am running into an issue while working my way through a Firebase / React tutorial ( [this video] ). I am in the auth section trying to set up new users and I am having success in getting the new user into my Auth section on firebase but I am not getting their id token back so I can't move forward with creating a users collection programmatically. Currently I am seeing the TypeError on the command line and getting back a 500 error with an empty JSON string in Postman. Any ideas on what I am missing in data.user.getIdToken() ? const functions = require("firebase-functions"); const admin = require('firebase-admin'); const app = require('express')(); const firebaseConfig = { apiKey: "***", authD

I am currently following this tutorial [this video] on youtube and at around the 26 minutes mark, the author is running his functions locally with the firebase serve command. This works fine for him, but as soon as I try to do that, I get the next error: Error: Could not load the default credentials. Browse to [LINK] for more information. at GoogleAuth.getApplicationDefaultAsync (D:\\...\functions\node_modules\google-auth-library\build\src\auth\googleauth.js:161:19) at process._tickCallback (internal/process/next_tick.js:68:7) Now, the error is giving me a link which helps me to solve this error, by setting an environment variable in my windows (which I don't like, because will this and how will

I'm following this [this video] tutorial. I have this cloud function deployed with firebase serve : exports.createScream = functions.https.onRequest((req, res) => { const newScream = { body: req.body.body, userHandle: req.body.userHandle, createdAt: admin.firestore.Timestamp.fromDate(new Date()) }; admin .firestore() .collection('screams') .add(newScream) .then((doc) => { res.json({ message: `document ${doc.id} created sucseccfully` }); }) .catch((err) => { res.status(500).json({ error: err }); console.error(err); }); }); I'm getting this error: functions: Beginning execution of "createScream" Error: Could not load the default credentials. Found a solution to the issue! Essentially - you need to set up your Google Application Credentials. Go into firebase and look into your settings. You need to set up the environment variable GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS so that firebase has your credentials when you access these files. [LINK] for more information. After you've done that, check the security settings in firebase, in every area you're dealing with. This should solve the problem (it's definitely a security issue and not your code). This was the tutorial in question as well for those looking on . [this video] .

Cites Eklavya · 2020-05 · Stack Overflow · on “How do i solve the "status":{"code":3,"message":"INVALID_ARGUMENT"} error in firebase functions console?”

I am using ReactJS with Firebase to make functions. My motive is to create a user signup function. Following is the code for it. app.post( '/signup', (req, res)=> { const newUser = { email : req.body.email, password : req.body.password, confirmPassword : req.body.confirmPassword, handle : req.body.handle, }; firebase.auth().createUserWithEmailAndPassword('newUser.email', 'newUser.password') .then((data)=>{ return res.json({message: `user signed up successfully`}); } ).catch( (err) => { console.error(err); return res.json({error : err.code}) } ); } ) It also requires the use of Firebase initialization with proper credentials. The code i am including below : const functions = require('firebase

The problem arised when I was following this React tutorial [this video] . The goal is to create a simple social media web app with Firebase, React, MaterialUI, etc. I am around the 5:40:00 mark and I've managed to debug every problem I've encountered up until this point, but right now I've been stuck for more than an hour on something that seems like a stupid mistake. The segment that I'm on is creating the login page. I've successfully created the login form and it functions (meaning that it will redirect the user to the home page if the right user credentials are submitted). What doesn't function thought is the helperText of the input fields. The way it's supposed to work is to display an erro

I am following a tutorial [this video] . My understading about firebase is firebase deploy takes time to deploy and propagate. Therefore, developer tends to use firebase serve to get a hot reload feature. I tried to run this simple code with firebase deploy and firebase serve . The firebase deploy works as expected and I can send a GET request using Postman while firebase serve sent an error. How to reproduce the environment npm install -g firebase-tools firebase init, select functions, select javascript Add the code down below to index.js firebase serve use Postman to send a GET request to api/screams index.js const functions = require('firebase-functions'); const admin = require('firebase-admin

I'm doing project by a video [this video] , but the content seams to be out of date, because i've been runing into a lot of problems that the guy isn't. I'm fairly new to node js and firebase in fact i'm learning along the way. My problem is that when I enter this function on() of bus boy my variable simply gets Undefined. I can't understand why. that leads to the URL storage in DB being : " [LINK] " here is my code const { db, admin } = require("../util/admin"); const config = require("../util/config"); const firebase = require("firebase"); firebase.initializeApp(config); const { validateSingnupData, validateLoginData, } = require("../util/validators"); exports.uploadImage = (request, response)
