What it is

A 39-minute tutorial by Derek Molloy on setting up C/C++ cross-compilation for embedded Linux, using the BeagleBone as the example target. It walks through installing a toolchain, configuring Eclipse CDT, using the RSE plugin to talk to the board, and setting up remote debugging with gdbserver and gdb-multiarch.

May I suggest you install the 4.7 version of arm-linux-gnueabihf, as it is more stable and if you have c code then g++ is not needed, in eclipse it may show an warning but not eny error...have a look at derek molloy's video on youtube. [this video]

I made a mistake in the remote absolute file path field during the debug configuration. I thought the path does not include the file name, but not the case here. It actually needs the full path and the filename of the application. After I correct that. Everything works. Need file name in the path [LINK] In case someone else need the instruction on setting up remote debug in eclipse. The video by Derek Molloy on Youtube( [this video] ) helped me a lot.

i don't exactly understand the manual/help from libcURL. I'm trying to build a Cross-Compiler including the libcURL library. I installed a Cross-Compiler on my Server with the help of this video [this video] and can start it with arm-linux-gnueabihf-gcc hello_simple.c . I could compile simple c-code like printf ("Hello World"); After that i tried to install libcURL and read that I need to compile the lib and use the configure file to set the build and host. I used different configuration like: sudo ./configure --build=i586-pc-linux-gnu --host=arm-linux --target=arm-linux --prefix=/home/nevadmin/dev/gcc but neither did one worked. I think I'm making somewhere mistakes. This is the output after con

see if this helps [this video] ... You are probably running linux on beaglebone black so you would have to install arm-linux-gnueabi* see [LINK]

I have to work on a SOM module with Debian installed. I found a good instruction (video) on how to enable remote debug with an embedded system [this video] . I followed the steps to set up the Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers to work with the module. I tested it with the helloworld project. It worked, great. Now I started debug my own project. With the same settings, it does not work on my project. I got file input/output error: [LINK] I could not debug it. I then checked target device, found that the binary code was downloaded to the SOM without the X property. After chmod a+x , the code ran. So I'm lost here. Why the remote debug works on the one line helloworld code, and not work for a real pr

I have Eclipse CDT and Linaro 7.3.1 installed according to this page [LINK] on my Ubuntu machine. Then, I install some other tools like QEMU and the different architectures for ARM after this guide [LINK] . Next, I follow this video [this video] to start a Hello World code. The code builds without problem. However, it fails to run and complains: /lib/ld-linux-armhf.so.3: No such file or directory I already link to the folder containing this file. Why is it giving this error? The video mentions that QEMU takes care of the problem. It doesnt seem to work for me. Please help. Turns out to be a linking problem. Fixed.
