What it is
A two-minute clip from the film Serenity (2005) showing the recorded monologue left on Miranda that explains how the Pax drug turned most of the colony into passive victims and a small fraction into the violent Reavers. It is a fan upload of a single scene, with no commentary.

The woman who made the recording arrived after the Pax was released on Miranda. She was most likely part of the research team itself that released the Pax. In this Youtube video [this video] of the monologue, the way she talks about it as well as her reference to "they have killed most of us" also indicate that the group she was with was something separate from the population of Miranda. Now, once the crew of the Serenity are on Miranda, they are attempting to locate the source of a beacon. Their search leads them to this crashed ship... ...they enter the ship, and this is on the wall... Research and Rescue. Within the ship, Wash says "This is the source?" meaning the beacon they were looking for

You're looking for the movie Serenity [LINK] . It was probably a blockbuster Alot of hoopla, but it was a flop. Budget $39 million Box office $38.9 million I cannot remember the main story but it was around people flying in space with a mission They were confronted to a race / mutated humans who were extremely aggressive and were flying from planet to planet to pillage and kill on of the scenes (at the beginning I think) features the good guys (and one woman I think) closely escaping from them on a planet and they killed on their way out one poor guy caught by the mutants (to spare him torture and being eaten alive if I remember correctly) They regularly mercy kill anyone taken by a reaver.

There is no evidence that Reavers reproduce or grow their numbers at all. There is nothing in canon to indicate that the Reavers' numbers are growing at all. The recording on Miranda (linked below) indicated that the PAX drug introduced to the population turned one tenth of one percent of the colony's population of 30 million people into Reavers. That's 30,000 Reavers, which more than accounts for what we ever see on screen. Further, Reavers are somewhat uncommon as you get farther from Miranda. The characters are typically relaxed as they fly around, and settlements are not armed camps built to defend against Reaver attack--running into Reavers is a danger, but it's relatively rare. In fact
