3.1 PV panel Spice model and simulation
Why Electrical Engineering Stack Exchange recommends it
Electronics Stack Exchange users link it when asking how to set up and tune a SPICE/LTspice solar cell model so that short-circuit current, open-circuit voltage and maximum power match a real panel.

What it is
A short university lecture segment (module 3.1 of a CU Boulder ECEN 4517 course) on building a SPICE model of a photovoltaic panel and simulating its current-voltage and power behaviour. It walks through the equivalent circuit of a solar cell and how its parameters shape the simulation results.

I just watched the video you hinted at ( [this video] ), and he explains much of the questions you asked. Did you watch the video in its entirety, or just copy the schematics?

I have this question about the circuit that I am working on for quite long and it is just not working. Please help, i have already tried every thing i could understand. I followed a YouTube tutorial and the circuit is working fine for the inputs entered in the video but not working for my modified inputs. i will attach the snapshots of Youtube tutorial below and my input values are mentioned here: VOC=2.33V, Short ckt current Isc=500mA=0.5A, No.of cells in series = 7. I want to obtain the maximum power curve for the given conditions. But I am getting power only in few mW that should not be like this... please suggest what changes should I make in circuit. The subcircuit is of a single cell a

Images below are from the LT Spice solar cell model I've set up as an approximate representation of the solar panel I'm using for testing. I'm not sure if I'm setting component values correctly to replicate the maximum Short Circuit and Open Circuit values of this panel. This video 1 [this video] says the Short Circuit value is 'very close' to the value of the Current Source and this video 2 [LINK] says it's 'most strongly' the Diode Saturation Current. For the first sim 4 [LINK] I set the Current Source to the panels quoted maximum current of 0.5A and then tweaked the Diode Saturation Current right down until I had approximately the right Wattage at Maximum Power Point and then adjusted the DC s
