Tutorial: Quick Smooth Camera Movements in Blender
Why Blender Stack Exchange recommends it
Blender Stack Exchange answerers point people to it when they want a fast way to record natural camera paths in walk mode and then smooth the keyframes, rather than hand-building curves.

What it is
A short Blender tutorial by Polyfjord on animating a camera quickly for smooth, steadicam-like motion. It covers recording movement with auto keying in walk mode, smoothing the keyframes, manual keying, a cinemascope setup, extending the animation and rendering the results.

There is another really cool method I learned from this youtube video: [this video] Basically, you use auto key frames while moving the camera manually in walk mode using the WASD keys (like a video game), then use keyframe resampling to smooth the motion out.

@Marty I think the pose-to-pose animation is a good idea, but I don't really like how "floaty" the camera feels with this technique. It just tends to create unnatural, sliding, movements when transitioning from one pose to another. And working with curves can be annoying. It's just a lot of work and tweaking but probably the best approach for client work if there is a lot of suspected changes happening during production... @Chris That's the technique I used but sometimes you don't want to "Follow curve" because the camera should be looking at another direction while continuing on it's path and it's hard to make the transitions smooth (not even getting into gimble locks and other weird rotati

I wanted to walk around like a cameraman in my scene, using walk mode, and using auto-keying to record my motion (in a similar way to how Polyfjord does things in his "Quick Smooth Camera Movements" [this video] tutorial). I.e.: Enable Auto Keying . Start Play Animation (with spacebar). Enter walk mode (with tilde ~ ). Move around (and so generate keyframes). Press left mouse button to finish walk mode. Press spacebar to stop Play Animation (and the generation of keyframes). But I also wanted the camera to be continuously facing toward a particular object even as it moved around in the scene. You can get the camera to track a particular object, using the Track To constraint (as pointed out by @Jo

I'm working with prototyping camera movement using this tutorial [this video] and I'm having trouble holding Alt-O (hotkey for smoothing keyframes) as he did at about 2:54. When he holds the hotkey, it repeats itself automatically and the camera keyframes are smoothed almost instantly, but when I hold it, it acts like I've only pressed it once. It's a real pain when I have to do it about 50 times manually, so any help would be appreciated.
