I know, what the error means but i don't know how or where do i fix it :/ NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object FloatingTextManager.GetFloatingText () (at Assets/Scripts/FloatingTextManager.cs:42) FloatingTextManager.Show (System.String msg, System.Int32 fontSize, UnityEngine.Color color, UnityEngine.Vector3 position, UnityEngine.Vector3 motion, System.Single duration) (at Assets/Scripts/FloatingTextManager.cs:21) GameManager.ShowText (System.String msg, System.Int32 fontSize, UnityEng

i'm trying to make a game on unity using C# for a games dev course. the course is: [this video] and at 51:55 is where i am experiencing the error. the error is NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object player.FixedUpdate () (at Assets/scripts/player.cs:32) i have checked and it seems to be letter by letter (including caps) perfect, unless i'm jsut stupid. it may be because of outdated code, something in unity or me just copying something down wrong. anyhow, here's the code: using System.Collections; using System.Collections.Generic; using UnityEngine; [RequireComponent(typeof(BoxCollider2D))] public class player : MonoBehaviour { private BoxCollider2D boxCollide

I am trying to follow the tutorial for a dungeon RPG [this video] , which involves creating a tileset. As part of this ( bookmark to exact time in video (edit: thanks, corrected) [this video] ) in the video it's possible to move around tiles into separate folders. I am trying to re-create this on Unity 2022.2.0.a14.2406, and I don't seem to be able to do this: Whenever I move around tiles (from a tileset) to other folders in my assets, I end up moving the whole tileset (see image below, with the left-arrow linking to the tileset). This of course prevents me from splitting up tiles, e.g. into categories like players/walls/etc. [LINK] How would you do this? I also tried using tags, but they seem to have

Camera will not follow player on positive x, y coordinates but will on negative x, y coordinates. What did I do wrong? I'm following this tutorial [this video] and it looks like I copied it to the letter but I can't get it to work. (Code starts at 55:39 in the video) public Transform lookAt; public float boundX = 0.15f; public float boundY = 0.05f; private void LateUpdate() { Vector3 delta = Vector3.zero; // This is to check if we're inside the bounds on the X axis float deltaX = lookAt.position.x - transform.position.x; if (deltaX > boundX || deltaX < -boundX) { if (transform.position.x < lookAt.position.x) { deltaX = deltaX - boundX; } else { delta.x = deltaX + boundX; } } // This is to check i
