What it is
A hands-on tutorial by Nicholas Renotte that builds a real-time sign language detector with the TensorFlow Object Detection API. It covers collecting webcam images with OpenCV, labelling them in LabelImg, configuring an SSD pipeline, training with transfer learning, and running live detection.

I was following this tutorial: [this video] I got to the very last step, and I got OSError: invalid face handle . I tried looking around and found nothing about this. After following the trail, I found one line in ImageFont.py that was supposedly messing everything up: size, offset = self.font.getsize(text, "L", direction, features, language) . Here is the rest of my code, any help would be greatly appreciated: import cv2 import numpy as np import os from object_detection.utils import label_map_util from object_detection.utils import visualization_utils as viz_utils from object_detection.utils import config_util from object_detection.builders import model_builder import tensorflow as tf from obje

Hi! Beginner here. I have a tensorflow, I am doing a hand gesture recognition system. The problem is, I have no idea how to fix this error. I don't want to modify the .py files because I may break them. This code is from Jupyter Notebook. I got the tutorial from Nicholas Renotte's video. I'm trying to implement a python program which makes hand gesture recognitions and detects unwanted gestures such as profanity. I watched a tutorial on youtube about "Real Time Sign Language Detection with Tensorflow Object Detection and Python" Video Link [this video] and did whatever the instructor did. At some point the youtuber guy executes a command in jupyter notebook. The command is: !python {SCRIPTS_PATH + '/generate_tfrecord.py'} -x {IMAGE_PATH + '/train'} -l {ANNOTATION_PATH + '/label_map.pbtxt'} -o {ANNOTATION_PATH + '/train.record'} !python {SCRIPTS_PATH + '/generate_tfrecord.py'} -x{IMAGE_PATH + '/test'} -l {ANNOTATION_PATH + '/label_map.pbtxt'} -o {ANNOTATION_PATH + '/test.record'}

I want to perform model training using tensorflow api. My object_detection file exists in my project directory. I guess I shouldn't be using the Python global scope. I'm new to this stuff. I do not have too much information. I cannot perform model training because I am encountering this error. :( Here is the link of the tutorial video I watched: [this video] My file directory is as in this video. I have done all the necessary installations. I tried giving the object_detection path to the PYTHONPATH to resolve my error but it didn't work.
