I had to do a couple of things to make this work. I was following this video and it selects 'tf' as executable. I'm using Windows so I had to select tf.cmd as executable. Getting Started with TFVC inside of Android Studio with the Team Services Plugin [this video] Also I had _JAVA_OPTIONS set in environment variables so when Android Studio was testing tf executable, the first response was: Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xms512m -Xmx2048m After I removed _JAVA_OPTIONS from environment variables tf executable was accepted. Going through debuglog Android Studios debuglog was pretty useful to understand the issue: How do I collect logs to help troubleshoot an issue? [LINK] Also I ended up modifying tf.cmd

You need first install the VSTS plugin for IntelliJ [LINK] . This plugin is compatible with Android studio. Suggest you to use GIT as your version control. Then it's not hard to create the repo and add/import code to your repo with git command line. Detail tutorial please refer this link: VSTS Plugin for IntelliJ IDEA and Android Studio [LINK] If you want to use TFVC as your version control, you need to use the TEE CLC to provide the TFVC support. Update: Unlike Git, you should not import code in VCS. In the version control bar, there should be a local changes option, select the folder and files, right click and choose commit changes, finally check in the changes. Then your local project should be sync synchronized to VSTS server side. Precondition : you have the correct workspace mapping for local Andriod folder. @Hunt Unlike Git, you should not import code in VCS, in the version control bar, there should be a local changes option, select the folder and files, right click and choose commit changes, finally **check in** the changes. Then your local project should be sync synchronized to VSTS server side. **Precondition**: you have the correct workspace mapping for local `Andriod` folder. After install the team services plugin, you should also install TF command line tool [LINK] : Download TFF_CLC-14.*.*.zip ( TFF_CLC_14.120.0.zip for now) -> extract the .zip file in a certain directory -> in commandline/terminal -> cd to the extract files -> tf eula -> finish reading -> press y . More detail steps, you can refer TFVC support [LINK] . Then configure the TF in android studio : File -> settings -> version control -> TFVC -> select the file tf.cmd (for windows) in the path that you extract -> test to check if it’s valid -> OK.
