Multi-project templates are very tricky. I've found that the handling of $safeprojectname$ makes it almost impossible to create a multi-project template and have the namespace values replaced correctly. I've had to create a custom wizard which light up a new variable $saferootprojectname$ which is always the value that the user enters into the name for the new project. In SideWaffle [LINK] (which is a template pack with many templates) we have a couple multi-project templates. SideWaffle uses the TemplateBuilder NuGet package. TemplateBuilder has the wizards that you'll need for your multi-project template. I have a 6 minute video on creating project templates with TemplateBuilder [this video] .

I would recommend using the TemplateBuilder NuGet package inside of either a VSIX Project or a Visual Studio package. I've created a 6 minute video showing you how you can: Create a VSIX containing a project template, and then editing the template. Checkit out at [this video] . FYI TemplateBuilder is open source at [LINK] . If you've heard of SideWaffle [LINK] it relies on TemplateBuilder.

Try it without SideWaffle/TemplateBuilder and then get back to me. I don't even know how you would start unless you were very knowledgeable of the subject, theres a lot of moving parts, and ways to go wrong. The video to watch is [this video]

I'm building a VSTO project template with SideWaffle following the video from: How to create Visual Studio project templates with TemplateBuilder and SideWaffle [this video] I added an existing (new) stub VSTO project, set it not to build in both debug and release, but when I hit Ctrl+F5 to launch the Experimental VS instance I get the following three build errors: Could not copy the file "c:\users\john\documents\visual studio 2013\Projects\VisioVstoTemplate\VisioVstoTemplate\.NETFramework,Version=v4.5" because it was not found. I'm using Visual Studio Premium 2012 and installed sidewaffle. Working through examples to create a template using the falling video. [this video] I cannot see 'Add template Reference (Sidewaffle project)' on the add menu when I right click the project. Do you know how I get this option to show? Thanks.

Background: I am attempting to create a new C# project [LINK] template for ASP.NET MVC using Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate Update 5. To start, I create an Web application from the empty template and include MVC references. Then, I add all of the basic required components for the application such as the model, controller, and views. Next, I run it, and it works. Then, I export it as a project template. In the past, I have successfully created templates for Web Api and Console Apps using the above method. Problem Description: When I attempt to use the template for a new project, I get the following error: [LINK] According to both the error message and Microsoft [LINK] , I should be able to resol
