I am very new in Hadoop (I am using hadoop-2.7.3) and I am trying to do a WordCount example. Sample from youtube [this video] In this while moving a jar file to hadoop, I am getting an error like 'failed 2 times due to AM Container for appattempt_1503226867501_0002_000002 exited with exitCode: -1000' I don't have any idea about the issue. Am I missing some settings? [LINK]

You can export HADOOP_CLASSPATH in hadoop-env.sh . You can add more jar to HADOOP_CLASSPATH. Later before running a job run the following commands in shell. export HADOOP_CLASSPATH=$(hadoop classpath) echo $HADOOP_CLASSPATH For reference see this [this video] [LINK]

I have been working on PageRank algorithm with help of Map Reduce jobs. I need to create Mapper and Reducer classes with the help of which I will be creating jar file. I am using jar file to work with Hadoop clusters. Currently my java files is PageRank.java import java.io.IOException; import org.apache.hadoop.fs.Path; import org.apache.hadoop.io.LongWritable; import org.apache.hadoop.io.Text; import org.apache.hadoop.mapreduce.Job; import org.apache.hadoop.mapreduce.lib.input.FileInputFormat; import org.apache.hadoop.mapreduce.lib.output.FileOutputFormat; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.StringTokenizer; import org.apache.hadoop.io.IntWritable; import org.apache.hadoop.mapreduce
