What it is

Part 2 of CG Geek's Star Wars Star Destroyer tutorial series for Blender. It shows how to add fine surface detail to the hull using micro-displacement maps in Cycles, building on the base model from part 1. The presenter works in Blender 2.78 and supplies downloadable displacement maps.

[LINK] So I am watching CG Geek's tutorial on how to create a Star Destroyer [this video] , and I'm pretty much finished with it, but there's one small problem that I am having. On his tutorial, his displacement map on the model is so pronounced and stick out more.My displacement map stick out a little, but barely at all. It just looks flat. I tried using a math node on the image texture in order to amplify the map, but it doesn't seem to do anything. In the video, CG geek is using Blender 2.78. I'm using 2.82. Maybe that has something to do with it? How do I get me displacement map to stick out more like in CG Geek's video? Here it the reloaded Blender file [LINK] (with images).

So I have some displacement for the top plane of my model. The displacement raised the plane. I figured out the cause. It happened because the edges were somehow split while I was modelling. BUT, when I merge the vertices, the displacement ceases to exist. It looks as if I applied a bump map. I tried modelling again but in vain. I am following a tutorial from youtube. I'm trying to follow a star destroyer tutorial made by CG Geek and I've reached the point where I'm using Image Textures for the side. For some reason in rendered, the image texture looks quite odd as you can see in the image below... does anyone know why its like this? Also, how can I rotate the image texture cause its vertical in render The first screenshot is how the star destroyer should look rendered (from tutorial) Link to the tutorial video by CG Geek [this video] [LINK] The two remaining screenshots are from my project [LINK] [LINK]
