How to create a soft body in blender 2.8
Why Blender Stack Exchange recommends it
Blender Stack Exchange users cite it as the tutorial they were following when their inflating soft body would not collide with a cage object, or when they wanted to reproduce its balloon-inflation effect.

What it is
A roughly 22-minute Blender 2.8 tutorial from the 3Dschool channel showing how to set up a soft body simulation, with a balloon inflating inside a frame or cage as the worked example. It walks through soft body physics, a force field and collision objects.

I was following this tutorial [this video] to create an expanding balloon in a 3D frame. However, with all the correct steps, the collision won't happen, even with the softbody solver step size set as 300. Can anyone help out? i got a lil problem i wanted to do this tutorial.. [this video] when i created the cage i must have made a mistake... maybe i forgott to merge on center on a few points? i cant find the error no matter what i do when blowing up the inside, there is one spot in the cage where it goes through? can anybody tell me what i did wrong? the cage is made out of mirror modifier... i also tried with applie dmodifier.. thx [LINK]

I am doing this tutorial [this video] And I have added a collision to the outer object but the inflating ball inside still wont collide with the grid on the outside? Any ideas? [LINK] [LINK]

I am trying to wrap a net (made out of torus shapes) around a balloon. As the balloon deflate, I hope to make the net get flat and flat (on the ground. I was exploring the inflate and deflate on Blender, but I have trouble figuring out how to add motions/other physics to the net. Which feature can I use to make the net to collapse and get flat along with the deflated balloon? Would I have to parent it and make it collide to a flat plane surface? [LINK] Describing my plan: inflated (nice inflated circular shape with a net wrapped around) at frame 1 and deflated (winkly and flat rubber balloon) at frame 100. I am trying to create a soft body/ cloth simulation where the eyeballs inflate and pop out of the eye socket and form into a heart shape. I tried quite some different approaches now but none worked out so far. At first I shaped a heart from a cube and subdivided the faces so it would create a smooth mesh which I added soft body physics to. Then I applied a force field but the effect would not create a realistic round eyeball in the first frames like in this tutorial: How to create a soft body in blender 2.8 [this video] Next I tried to use cloth physics to let the heart shaped cube inflate itself but the shape got lost in the process. Then I tried this tutorial: Make ANYTHING Inflated | Blender3D
