If your looking to animate water I'd recommend watching this guy's Youtube tutorial videos on water simulation to get used to the physics so you can create the effect your going for. 2.8 version [LINK] 2.79 version [this video]

I was following this tutorial [this video] . I created: circle as water source, pool, domain. I selected Cycles Render ; Objects have following settings: water circle : fluid type - Inflow, Volume - Shell, y = 1; pool : fluid type - Obstacle, Volume - Shell; domain : fluid type - Domain; I pressed Bake , waited till it finish and got shaking puddles during play. [LINK] As said in the title, is it normal for this to take so long? In this video it takes them seconds to bake (video: [this video] ), they stated that they had a GTX970 but I don't think GPUs affect bake time. Also while I'm writing this, it says elapsed time is 20 min and time remaining 30 min.
